Trong suÑt thÝi gian bË giam giï, NguyÅn Vi Bình ã không °ãc phép g·p m·t vã con. ChÉ vì làm ¡n xin thành l­p £ng Tñ Do Dân Chç, chÉ vì vi¿t bài t°Ýng trình vÁ tình tr¡ng nhân quyÁn t¡i ViÇt Nam mà anh Bình ã bË BÙ Chính TrË tr¥n áp, giam tù. iÁu 69 Hi¿n Pháp n°Ûc CHXHCNVN ghi rõ:  <b><i>Công dân có quyÁn tñ do ngôn lu­n, t° do báo chí, có quyÁn °ãc thông tin, có quyÁn hÙi hÍp, l­p hÙi, biÃu tình theo qui Ënh cça pháp lu­t</i></b>". More than 13 months have passed and Binh has been denied the right to see his wife and children. While the Constitution of The Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, article 69 declares "<b><i>Citizens have the right to exercise the freedom of expression, freedom of press, right to exchange information, to assembly, to found organizations and demonstrate according to the regulation of laws</i></b>", Nguyen Vu Binh was detained solely because of daring to found the Democracy and Freedom Party as well as to testify on the violation of human rights in Viet Nam.
